I was at Great Falls in Maryland recently and stumbled upon a group of Civil War re-enactors. This tattered American Flag was at their camp.

I decided to photograph my guitar in the intense light I get at sunset in my apartment. I used my macro lens to get in close on the guitar's tuning machine head.

Mountain Bike against a Fence

I was at the Cherry Blossom festival this weekend in Washington, DC. I didn't get very good photos of the blossoms, but I did snap this photo of a mountain bike leaning against a chain link fence.

Here's another photo from the archives. You are looking at a Haleakala Silversword. I found this plant growing on top of the Haleakala Crater in Maui back in January of 2006.

I pulled this one from the archives. I discovered this structure while walking down 11th Avenue in Manhattan in 2006. I didn't know what it was at the time, but have since learned. It turns out that the Titanic was supposed to dock here

You are looking at a support spacer thing for a giant pane of glass. I found this on top of the Women In Military Service For America Memorial in Arlington National Cemetary.

Water Spigot

I photographed this water spigot in Arlington National Cemetary. I often enjoy photographing old, rusty things. I was amused when taking this photo because several passersby were trying desperately to figure out what I was photographing. It must have seemed strange for a guy with a "fancy" camera to be taking a photo of an old spigot when he is standing in the midst of hundreds of tourists all photographing the rows of headstones.

I used a red and blue LED light to paint this super creepy porch near Chantilly, Virginia. I exposed this shot for 20seconds.
