Last night Marcos and I tried to take photos of the lunar eclipse. We got the time wrong and didn’t get to see the eclipse. Instead, we found an area along highway A1A just north of the Pineda causeway in Melbourne, FL with several abandoned boats floating near the shore. We waded out to the boats with our camera gear in tow and took some cool photos. The water was only about thigh deep out by this boat. You can see the full moon in the background. I manually fired my SpeedLite 580ex flash while taking an 8.0 second exposure of the boat. The flash really helped to make the boat stand out against the night. Note that you can also see the red streak of tail lights from the cars on the causeway behind the boat.
